Who We Are

The Logic(s) universe is anchored around the first queer Black and Asian tech magazine. We have published across disciplines and mediums, featuring poetry, speculative fiction and graphic stories alongside the traditional long form essay. The magazine has served as a launchpad for fellowships—inside and outside the academy,— fashion designer-in-residence, a translation program and more. In June 2026, we initiated fiscal sponsorship with Aspirations. While we transition our administrative and contractual agreements, sales of magazines are on a hiatus. We anticipate being able to resume in the Winter.

Mission

Our mission is to critically examine artificial intelligence and technology more broadly for a popular audience. Within that, key goals include the following:

Empowering the researched to become the researchers;
Recruiting contributions from underserved regions of the world given the transnational nature of technical infrastructure and who is at the forefront of its social impact;
Maintaining the archive that has been produced since issue 1: Intelligence.

What is your current programming?

In lieu of a print edition, all contributions solicited for Issue 24: On Terror, will be exclusively be published online and open access. Refunds have been issued to anyone who may have subscribed but please contact us at fulfillment at logicmag dot io if you’ve still not received yours.

We are soliciting submissions for an online open forum. In addition to the genres we typically solicit for the magazine, we are inviting you to submit letters to the editor and/or take part in text based round tables with leading scholars on the big issues confronting our world. Please note, unlike the traditional magazine this is an unpaid opportunity.

We are excited to share that a Logic(s) podcast co-hosted by Khadijah Abdurahman and Mallika Dharmaraj will be released later this fall. You can check here for updates or sign up for our mailing list to be updated as episodes drop.

What is your current funding status?

We are grateful to Ruha Benjamin’s Ida B. Wells Just Data Lab at Princeton University and Chris Dancy’s THiCC lab at Penn State for providing us with micro grants that prevented our core operations from totally collapsing. However, we are currently staffed on a volunteer basis and not in receipt of larger philanthropic funding. We also refunded subscription revenue once it became clear that our operations must shrink.

Resuming a print version of the magazine and other aspects of our programming, will only be possible with contributions from readers like you. Please make donations through our new fiscal sponsor, Aspirations by using our Commit Change portal. If you would like to arrange a larger donation from a Donor Advised Fund or other financial instruments, please contact us on growth at logicmag dot io.

Our Home

Logic(s) was previously housed within Columbia University’s Incite institute. In response to the brutalization of Student and faculty protesters rightfully demanding the university divest from the occupation and its ongoing genocide of Gaza, we announced our intention to find a new administrative home. In November 2025, we were able to complete our exit.

Our History

Logic(s) was previously called Logic Magazine and for six years was part of the Logic Foundation, which continues its work. Logic(s) retains the core commitments of the magazine’s founding while laying the groundwork to radically shift both critical technology writing and dominant publishing models.

At Logic(s) we’re dedicated to privacy. On this website, we have turned off Google Analytics, and we don’t collect any user data.
